Consider Pencil2D for a small hand-drawn animation. Check the camera framing and exported clip before committing to a longer sequence.

Drawing comes before a long timeline
Pencil2D describes a raster and vector workflow for hand-drawn animation. Its desktop editions cover Windows, macOS and Linux, with additional installation options documented by the project. That makes it worth considering when the task is drawing motion, rather than arranging an entire filmed programme. Start with an action you can explain in one sentence: a bouncing shape, a turning head or a moving leaf.
Keep the first attempt small
Our suggested first session is one object moving between a few positions. Save an editable project, play the short movement and change one drawing. This gives you three concrete questions: can you find the frame you need, can you revise it without losing the others, and does the motion communicate your idea? It is a suggested trial, not a result measured by this publication.
Check the camera and the release channel
The manual distinguishes the unlimited drawing canvas from the camera field that defines the exported view. Larger camera sizes also need more computer resources. The download page separates stable, nightly and legacy builds; older builds can lack current security fixes. Choose for your supported system instead of assuming every download offers the same support.
Deliver something a viewer can open
Preserve the animation project for later changes and check an exported clip separately in a player. Our recommendation is to examine the first frame, last frame and the moving subject before sharing. A successful editor preview alone does not establish that the exported framing or timing is right. Keep the original until the delivered copy has been checked.
Go straight to the people who make it.
