The described game
Unknown Horizons presents an economy and city-building strategy simulation involving settlement growth and trade. Its website also says the project is being ported to Godot. Those two statements do not establish that a new Godot edition can already be downloaded and played. The release status deserves attention before the concept attracts your interest.
The important download distinction
At our source check, the download page says no playable Godot version is available. It separately lists the legacy FIFE edition, version 2019.1, published in January 2019. The same page notes that the last compiled macOS edition is older still. A development screenshot should not be treated as proof of a released product.
Choose an expectation first
Our recommendation is to decide whether you are researching the project’s direction or trying the legacy game. For the latter, inspect its own platform and installation guidance and expect old documentation to need care. Do not choose a build simply because its announcement looks newer or assume that save compatibility carries across an engine port.
Watch the project rather than a promise
Use the official download and source pages for any future playable-release announcement. We do not predict a release date, claim that the port is complete or report hands-on testing of the legacy edition.
