Check the billing account and renewal details before assuming that deleting an app ends a subscription.

01

Identify who bills you

A subscription associated with an Android app is not necessarily billed by Google Play. Start with the receipt or the purchase history and identify the account and billing provider. This guide concerns subscriptions managed by Google Play. If another company bills you directly, use that company’s own account and support instructions.

02

Review the Google Play subscription

Google’s guidance places subscription management in Google Play under the profile menu, Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Choose the relevant subscription to inspect its options. Use the correct Google Account if the expected item is missing. Google explicitly notes that uninstalling an app does not cancel its subscription.

03

Read the consequence before confirming

Cancellation, pausing and changing a plan can have different effects. Read the displayed end date, renewal state and any conditions before making a change. Our suggested record is the app name, billing provider, next renewal date and the decision you made. Keep the confirmation with your receipts. Do not assume a cancellation also guarantees a refund; those are separate questions handled under the provider’s current rules.

04

Make the review easy to repeat

Review subscriptions when you stop using an app and before a trial ends. A calendar reminder can help, but it should supplement the actual billing page rather than replace it. If the status still looks wrong after a change, use the official support route and provide the relevant receipt details privately. App Fieldnotes does not access your account or cancel anything for you.
