Our research assessment: an appealing fit if you enjoy understanding why a plan worked or failed and trying a different approach on the next run.
- Deck-building and route decisions
- Different characters and card interactions
- Repeated runs are part of the structure
- Not a traditional story-led card adventure
What changes from run to run
The official Steam description presents a single-player deckbuilder with changing routes, cards and relics. The goal is to create combinations that work together through a climb, rather than simply collect every available reward. This fieldnote covers the original game’s PC listing, not its sequel or a mobile edition.
Think about your preferred pace
Turn-based decision-making can suit someone who likes to stop and consider alternatives. That does not make the game effortless: planning, uncertainty and failed attempts remain part of the attraction. Our suggestion is to ask whether you enjoy revising a strategy after a loss. If you mainly want steady permanent progress without resets, another structure may fit better. A deckbuilder is often most interesting when choosing what to leave out is as important as choosing what to add.
How to make a fair first impression
Use a first session to understand a few basic interactions instead of searching immediately for a supposedly perfect build. After a run, identify one decision you would change. Read the current system requirements and control options before purchasing, particularly on an older computer. The game’s Steam page includes multiple desktop platforms, but that is not a measured performance result. We have not completed runs or compared ports for this review; our recommendation is based on its documented design.
