A flexible starting point for sandbox play, provided you distinguish the engine from the individual game and server you choose.
- Multiple games within one platform
- Android and desktop support
- Games and servers have different rules
- Use current official distribution links
Choose the game after the platform
Luanti calls itself a voxel game-creation platform, rather than a single fixed adventure. Its official site lists Android and several desktop systems, an in-client content catalogue and solo or multiplayer play. The site announces version 5.17.0 from August 2026. That version identifies the engine; it does not tell you which game world you will enjoy.
Make the first world disposable
Our suggested start is to choose one game from the official catalogue, read its description and create a small test world. Learn how to leave, return and locate your progress before investing hours in a build. Keep the first experiment simple instead of adding many packages whose interactions you have not checked.
A server is a separate choice
Online servers can differ in community rules, moderation and account requirements. Review those details before joining, especially when choosing a place for a younger player. Follow the current developer download page rather than assuming an old store link remains available. We have not evaluated individual community packages, server moderation or performance on a particular phone, so those are not covered by this assessment.
Go straight to the people who make it.
