Use Scheduled Summary to choose delivery times; distinguish it from Apple Intelligence notification summaries.

01

Choose which interruptions can wait

Apple documents Scheduled Summary as a way to deliver notifications from several apps together at selected times. Begin by choosing an app whose updates you are comfortable reading later. Keep time-sensitive personal obligations in mind when deciding what can wait; a quieter screen is useful only if it still serves the way you need to communicate.

02

Set delivery times, then review app choices

In the iPhone Settings app, open Notifications, then Scheduled Summary. Enable it, choose the delivery times and select the apps to include. Apple also documents app-level choices between immediate delivery and the scheduled summary. Labels and available controls may differ by software version. This is a guide to documented settings, not an inspection of your phone or messages.

03

Timing and generated text are different controls

Scheduled Summary changes when a group of notifications is delivered. Apple Intelligence notification summaries can change how their content is summarized and require supported devices and settings. Do not assume enabling the schedule enables AI summaries, or that a generated summary is the original message. When the wording matters, read the notification or message itself.

04

Consider previews separately

Notification previews affect what information is displayed, including on the Lock Screen. Apple provides Show Previews controls and app-specific overrides. Review those separately from delivery timing: batching notifications does not itself establish that their contents are hidden. After making your own change, check that the next notification arrives in the way you intended, and adjust one setting at a time.
